Transfer Students

Iowa State has a rolling admissions policy, allowing transfer applications up to one year before your intended start date. Transfer students are encouraged to apply at least six months in advance.

Request transcripts from all colleges attended. Official transcripts should be emailed to Admissions, but unofficial ones can be uploaded through your Admissions MyAccount for review.

Complete your FAFSA by February 25* and apply for scholarships via the OneApp by March 6* for priority consideration. Admissions scholarships are also available for students admitted by March 1. Most scholarships and aid follow an academic year cycle, so meeting fall deadlines is crucial. Late applicants may receive aid if funds are available. *Deadlines apply to Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 transfer students.

Confirm your decision to attend Iowa State by accepting your offer of admission. To receive a refund on the acceptance fee, summer and fall students should confirm by May 1, and spring students by November 1.

After accepting your admission offer, you’ll receive an invitation to orientation. For summer and fall entry, orientation runs from April to August, with invitations starting in February. For spring entry, orientation is held from November to January, with invitations sent beginning in October.
